How to give your cat ear drops

It is really important that you only ever treat your cat with ear drops that have been prescribed to you by your vet after a check-up.

Vet Vicky Bridges explains the best way of applying ear drops to your cat...

You might find it easier if someone else helps you by holding the cat still.

Hold the cat’s head back firmly and securely, pull back the earflap to expose the ear canal. You can then place the prescribed amount into your cat’s ear. They might shake or wriggle as you apply this, so make sure the ear you are treating remains pointing upwards for a few seconds. Massage the base of the ear to ensure the eardrops make their way into the ear canal and have a positive effect on your cat.
