How to groom a dog

You should be grooming your dog regularly as it is a great chance to check for fleas and ticks, skin irritations and rashes.

Dr David Tweedle demonstrates the best way of grooming your dog...

The best way to begin is to have your dog in a seated position and to brush them from nose to tail in long strokes – most dogs will really enjoy this as it causes a scratching sensation!

Pay particular attention to the lower back, the back of the legs, the tail and the bottom – particularly if you have an older dog – as these are the areas your dog may struggle to access when grooming themselves.
